Digital Crimping Presses
We designed India’s first Bench Type “Digital” Crimping Press in the year 1999. Since then, we have developed a range of Digital Crimping Presses that weigh between 2 and 15 tons. We ensure that all our models are highly rigid and stable by using materials of the highest quality. Also, due to very little variance in their strokes, they also perform commendably on tests run by a Crimp Force Analyser. Further, all our models are CFA ready.
Over the years, these presses have been tested for repeatability & performance by many renowned wiring harness manufacturers in India and abroad, and have always passed the test since the variation in Crimp Height or repeatability is within a few microns.
History of Presses
Earlier presses were mechanically controlled. They had a fly wheel and a single rotation clutch. The clutch when operated through a solenoid gets engaged with flywheel, and this energy is transmitted to the Ram of the Machine. Such presses have many moving parts and hence are noisier and require more maintenance.
Later brake motors were introduced in these machines and the electric brakes were used to start and stop the operation. In this case also the clutches had its own draw backs. This also has more moving parts and they ask for replacement/maintenance frequently.
The modern and latest designs of machines use Inverter to generate Electronic braking. This is more effective and has Zero Maintenance. Normally in these machines dedicated controls are used using embedded technology which gives a lot of other optional features.
Visualizing the importance of this technology CCMPL (erstwhile CIC) incorporated this technology in Bench Type Presses in the year 1999 and exhibited the same in AUTO EXPO 2002. We manufacture presses of different capacities such as 2 Ton, 4Ton, 6Ton, 8Ton and 15Ton. All these presses are electronically controlled.
Functioning of a Good Press
Some think that applicator is the center of activity of the Crimping and conclude that the choice of press has a little bearing on crimp. This is not correct. The press plays a major role in the Crimping process. Some of the important factors related to the press are as follows:

- Stability of bearing
- Precision of Guides
- Play between Moving parts
- Shut Height
- Rigidity of the frame
